Some Great Public Courses
There’s a tournament on nearly every weekend on directtv satellite but if you’ve tired of watching golfers hit on TV and long to sharpen your skills you’ve got to hit the links. Here are a few of the best public courses in the country
Kiawah Island Ocean Course – Located just a few miles from the historic city of Charleston, Kiawah Island is a massive complex of incredible courses and five-star amenities. It’s next to Pebble Beach in terms of scenery and it’s probably close!
Bandon Dunes – Located in Oregon, Bandon is one of the most affordable public courses with such high quality. It’s got the picturesque verdant landscape you expect from Oregon and a really challenging lay at that. Head out here and make it a weekend in the Pacific Northwest.
Torrey Pines (South) – You’ve seen this one on TV but this La Jolla, CA course is as accessible as any. It books up fast so you’ll want to plan ahead but it’s a great course with a ton of storied history to improve your swing on.
